Both kids are book worms, which is more of a challenge for Kinsley than Zoe when it comes to life and storage on a boat. Zoe adds to her Kindle regularly but Kinsley, solidly in the picture book department, needs more physical books aboard. She’s a huge fan of Mercer Meyer and Richard Scarry, as well as anything involving boats, beaches, or seals. We visit the library often but have a collection on board as well.

Her books make their home all over the boat. Library books usually pile up next to my bed where we read before bed each night. Others are stored in a box under her bed or on the little shelf in her room. I also keep a bag of books in the car and rotate these from the car to the boat from time to time. Come spring, when our storage unit is a little easier to dig through, I’ll freshen up her library with some old favorites from there as well.

Here are some of Kinsley’s favorite boat kid books.
